This series is a private journey to reclaim stolen images. It wrestles with the conflict between reflection and shadow, but that is not the only duality present here. Some pieces focus on the dichotomy between the healing and intoxicating nature of pharmaceuticals, others on the fragmentation of connection into isolation.
Overall, this work is an effort to capture both the fleeting nature of movement through light and the solitary weight of confinement. The pieces are a personal narrative of escape through the darkness of shifting shadows where the materials themselves take on the role of psychological icons that tell a story never heard in its entirety. - Joe Isacson |
